2018 May News

May’s meeting will be held on Saturday May 5, 2018, 11:00am at the Wooden Angel Sharon Road Beaver, PA 15009.

The program will be honoring our scholarship winners and the Installation of Officers for the 2018– 2019 year.

 

Interest Group Information:

Antiques Group – . Following a wonderful April program “Over There” commemo- rating 100th Anniversary of WWI, which included a presentation by Brenda Applegate, the Antiques Group will meet next at the home of Norma Kehr on Monday, May 14 at 1:00 pm. The topic will be “Into the Woods”-Treenware (wooden primitives-bowls, po- tato mashers, paddles – everyday wooden household items)
A guided field trip of the Underground Railroad in the Darlington area with lunch at the 19th Hole is planned for June. All members are welcome to join us. Contact Nor- ma Kehr 724-774-3844.

* Thursday, May 10th – Beaver Valley Community Concert – Tony Pace, Las Vegas Headliner. Energy, Music and Comedy. Beaver Falls Middle School. 7:30 PM. Tickets – $20.00
* Tuesday, May 22nd – One hour All Mendelssohn Concert- at St. James Parish – Sewickley. Donna Amato –concert pianist, along with Cello and Violin Principal Chairs at the PSO. 7:30. Free.
* Friday, May 27th – “Big Fish” – Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center. Wonderful new Musi- cal about relationships. 7:30
PM. Tickets $15.00 and
$20.00. Meet for dinner at 5:00
somewhere. ☺

Investment Group: We will meet at Beth Hes- selson’s house on April 27th at 10:00 AM to discuss current events concerning the stock market and global influences, and of course individual concerns about money matters. We will continue learning about “bitcoin” and “blockchain” which may be the wave of the future. Of course we have light refreshments!!
The May meeting will be at Val Keeley’s home on
the 25th at 10:00 AM, or possibly at TD Ameritrade
in Cranberry, where we will be introduced to their
trading platform. Please call for further infor-
mation. All are welcome. Light refreshments will be served.

Dues in the amount of $65 (payable to AAUW Beaver Valley) may be given to or mailed to: Nancy Mahosky, Financial Officer, 1904 17th Street, Beaver Falls, PA 15010. Members paying by the May 5 luncheon will be entered into a drawing for a free membership! Deadline for dues payment is June 15.
