Gardening Group – 2025

The Gardening Group has been meeting since the early nineties and currently has over 20 members. Meetings are normally on the last Wednesday of the month at scheduled times appropriate to the activities which are often outdoor experiences. See our MONTHLY NEWSLETTERS. No meetings are scheduled for November through March.

All members are invited to join this active group. You do not need to have gardening skills, just a shared interest in flowers, shrubs, and vegetables.

Knowledgeable gardener or just getting started, the Garden Interest Group invites you to check out the many benefits of gardening and connecting with others who share this passion. We’re all seeking balance and satisfaction in life for physical and mental well being. Gardening presents a great way to stay active and enjoy the beauty of nature.

British actress Helen Mirren says, “Gardening is learning, learning, learning. That’s the fun of them. You’re always learning.”

Through the months of April – September, the Garden Group offers learning opportunities on gardening techniques such as pruning and composting; guest speakers on topics that range from creating container gardens, dealing with invasive plants, process of bee pollination; and tours of member gardens, as well as, botanical and estate gardens. Plus, members have enjoyed coming together to enjoy a potluck picnic while sharing nature’s bounty and gardening secrets.

‘Cultivating a garden is like cultivating a friendship-both are beneficial in so many ways.’ – Dedra Davis. So, come and cultivate your passion!
