Congratulations to all awardees for their leadership and effort to
promote the mission of AAUW Beaver Valley during the past year – 2024.
NAMED GIFT HONOREES
Members who have shown leadership or great effort to the Branch.
JOANN LECRONE
- Co-Chair of the Community Committee organizing Girls’ Recognition Night for 10 years.
- Printed certificates, sent district teachers letters, prepared teachers’ letters of recommendation for Girls’ Recognition Night.
- Donated her unique hand thrown pottery to the Kitchen Tour raffle room.
LINDA LOBOZZO
- Volunteered to serve as Newsletter Editor adding her special enhancements to the monthly communication sent to all members.
- Chaired the Kitchen Tour Purse and Accessories Sale for years and years, collecting, sorting and organizing items for sale that increased revenue.
- Chaired Literature I Book Group for many years.
MEMBER MAKING A DIFFERENCE
Member who has made a significant difference in something
of importance to the branch within the past year.
KACIE KIRKPATRICK
- Organized and chaired a new Interest Group, AAUW “After Hours.”
- Served in a leadership role as a member of the AAUW-PA State Nominating Committee for the PA State Board creating an outstanding PowerPoint presentation for PA State branches to share at their meetings.
- As a new member, recruited three friends to become members of AAUW.
OUTSTANDING WOMAN OF THE BRANCH
Awarded to a member for meritorious service to the branch
and the community for her accumulative body of service.
MARY BETH QUINN
- A pillar of the branch approaching 50 years’ membership while remaining active throughout serving as Co-President on two occasions, 1981 – 1983 and 2008 – 2011.
- Serves as Membership Co-Chair initiating new procedures for recruiting and retaining members. Recruited 10 new members.
- As Circulation Chair, she promptly sends branch information to all members throughout the year. Serves as a resource for by-laws, policies, procedures and branch history.
GATEWAY TO EQUITY AWARD
Awarded to someone in the community not necessarily an AAUW member,
who has promoted inclusion of women in the workplace as well as other leadership roles.
CHLOE GOEHRING
Content & Logistics Coordinator, Community College of Beaver County
- Liaison at CCBC for Girls’ Recognition Night that the college has hosted since 2011.
- Arranges for complimentary refreshments and use of the conference room for Girls’ Recognition Night ensuring all arrangements are prepared for the annual event.
- Coordinates a speaker from the college to introduce the girls to opportunities to further their education at CCBC during high school and beyond.
CHAMPION OF AAUW BEAVER VALLEY
Member who has made a significant difference of something
of importance to the branch within the past year.
NICK ZUNIC
- Extremely generous, yet humble, benefactor who has supported the Kitchen Tour from 2008 to 2024 increasing his donation in 2024 to offset printing costs. His generosity enables our branch to award significant scholarships to local women.
- Designed and built a rack to display purses for the Kitchen Tour ‘Purse Sale’ that generated additional revenue.
- Recruited his grand-daughter to join our branch out of respect to the local AAUW as a worthy organization.
