Scholarship Awards – 2024

AAUW Beaver Valley Branch is proud to announce our 2024 Scholarship Recipients:

From a pool of stiff competition among thirty-seven eligible applicants, the Scholarship Committee selected four scholarship recipients, each receiving $2500. They are as follows:

High School Scholarship Recipients:

LAUREN NESBELLA
A senior at Beaver Area High School who will attend Penn State to major in computer science with the career goal of becoming a software engineer. As an 8th grade student, Lauren was recognized at Girls’ Recognition Night.

 

Sydney Slater
A senior at Central Valley High School, Sydney will major in cyber security and plans to work in that field. Her minor is criminal justice. She will decide to attend Xavier University, Dayton University, or University of South Carolina.

 

Raja Sligh
Currently a senior at Beaver Falls High School, Raja will major in music education at either Duquesne University or Westminster College. she would like to become a music teacher.


Non-traditional Scholarship Recipient:

Chessea Bolland
A non-traditional student at Robert Morris University. she is currently a registered nurse, Chelsea is working on a Doctorate in Nursing Practice Her goal is to become a Nurse Practitioner. She resides in New Brighton.


CCBC Scholarship Award Recipient:

Alexandra Wise
Currently a student at CCBC, Alexandra has been selected to receive our annual $1000 award. She is a resident of Ellwood City and a graduate of Riverside High School. Alex majored in early childhood education at CCBC and was a member of the Phi Theta Kappa honor society. She graduated summa cum laude from CCBC and will continue her studies at La Roche University in the fall.
